In New Delhi on Sunday, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta unveiled Delhi AI Grind, the country’s inaugural AI engine focused on a single city. The launch aimed to ignite local talent and help young people craft AI solutions for everyday challenges.
Accompanied by IAF Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, the CM highlighted that Delhi AI Grind will operate for six months, bringing schools, neighborhoods and businesses together. “This is the largest initiative of its kind,” she said, noting that the program seeks to position Delhi as a leading hub for AI innovation.
The chief minister stressed that technology has become accessible to everyone, opening limitless opportunities for the city’s youth. She envisaged classrooms morphing into innovation labs, students stepping into roles as change‑makers, and Delhi moving toward becoming the nation’s knowledge and AI capital.
On X, she praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, stating, “Under the leadership of the Honourable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodiJi, India is today carving out a new identity on the global stage in the fields of AI, technology, and innovation. Inspired by this very vision, the Delhi government has launched India’s first city‑centric AI engine – Delhi AI Grind.”
The CM also urged students to let their imagination shape Delhi’s future, encouraging continuous experimentation, fearless thinking, learning from errors, and developing fresh solutions.
She noted that Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla’s presence at the ceremony in Central Park was especially inspiring; as India’s first astronaut at the International Space Station, he embodies a powerful example for youngsters.
Lastly, Rekha Gupta commended Education Minister Ashish Sood for creating the Delhi AI Grind program, aligning it with the central government’s goal of steering the National Capital toward becoming an AI and technology powerhouse.
