PM Modi Focuses on Poor’s Welfare During Dhar Visit
In Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off several development projects on Wednesday, emphasizing how his government has put the poor first over the last 11 years. He laid the foundation stone for key initiatives and shared his deep connection to the struggles of ordinary folks.
Modi said India’s growth depends on uplifting the poor. "Serving them is never wasted effort," he added. "Even small help sparks their courage to beat big hurdles." Drawing from his own life, he explained how he feels the pain of the underprivileged personally, calling it the biggest goal of his life.
The Prime Minister pointed out a huge win: 25 crore Indians have escaped poverty thanks to government schemes. This isn’t just talk—it’s real change boosting confidence across society. He called these efforts "guarantees" that transform lives for poor mothers, sisters, and daughters.
Paying respects at the Bhojshala, Modi bowed to Goddess Vagdevi, the symbol of knowledge in Dhar. He also marked Vishwakarma Jayanti, honoring the god of skills and craftsmanship. "Dhar’s history inspires bravery," he said, citing Maharaja Bhoj’s defense of pride and Maharshi Dadhichi’s sacrifice for humanity. Today, he stressed, India prioritizes Mother India’s security above all.
Modi recalled Pakistan’s terror attacks that hurt Indian families and how Operation Sindoor crushed their hideouts. "Our soldiers made them kneel in seconds," he noted, mentioning a recent case where a Pakistani terrorist broke down. "This is the new India—we don’t bow to nuclear threats; we strike back hard."
He highlighted September 17 as a key date, remembering Sardar Patel’s role in freeing Hyderabad from atrocities in 1948 and integrating it into India. The government now celebrates it as Hyderabad Liberation Day to honor the armed forces and India’s unity.
Modi praised freedom fighters who gave everything for a free, developed India. Now, 140 crore Indians chase that dream, powered by four pillars: women’s strength, youth energy, the poor, and farmers. Today’s event in Dhar boosted all of them.
Women took center stage, with Modi launching the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar campaign for healthy, empowered families. He noted the huge turnout of mothers and sisters, stressing women’s health as a national priority. "A healthy mother keeps the home strong," he said.
On nutrition, he kicked off the eighth National Nutrition Month, focusing on pregnant women and girls. The Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, started in 2017, gives Rs 5,000 for the first child and Rs 6,000 for the second daughter—straight to bank accounts. Over 4.5 crore mothers have got Rs 19,000 crore so far. On this day alone, Rs 450 crore reached 15 lakh women with one click.
Tackling sickle cell anaemia in tribal areas, Modi mentioned the national mission launched in 2023 from Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol. It screens and protects communities, starting with the first card there.
He listed women-friendly moves like Swachh Bharat’s toilet drive, Ujjwala’s free LPG, and Jal Jeevan Mission’s home water taps, easing daily burdens. Ayushman Bharat offers up to Rs 5 lakh free treatment, boosting women’s health.
For economic power, Mudra Yojana loans help crores of women start businesses. The goal? Turn three crore into Lakhpati Didis—nearly two crore already are. Women now lead as Bank Sakhis and Drone Didis, fueling rural growth through self-help groups.
Spotlighting Madhya Pradesh’s Maheshwari textiles, Modi tied it to Devi Ahilyabai Holkar’s legacy, celebrated on her 300th birth anniversary. The big reveal: foundation for India’s largest integrated textile park in Dhar on Vishwakarma Jayanti.
This PM MITRA Park spans 1,300 acres, with over 80 units allotted. It covers everything from cotton farming to exports under the 5F vision: Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion, and Fashion to Foreign. Factories and infrastructure build side-by-side, creating three lakh jobs. It cuts costs, making Indian textiles competitive worldwide. Modi congratulated Madhya Pradesh and announced six more such parks nationwide.
Celebrating Vishwakarma Puja, he praised PM Vishwakarma Yojana for aiding 30 lakh artisans with training, tools, digital marketing, and Rs 4,000 crore in loans. Over six lakh got new equipment.
Modi honored Dhar as the birthplace of Kushabhau Thakre, a "Nation First" leader, whose spirit drives India’s rise.
As festivals near, he pushed Swadeshi: Buy and sell made-in-India goods. With GST cuts from September 22 (start of Navratri), it creates jobs and saves money. "Say proudly: This is Swadeshi!" he urged, wishing everyone festive joy.
