A group of far‑left extremists was accused of planning to kill ICE officers after a New Year’s Eve terror spree that targeted American businesses.
Four members of a splinter faction called the “Order of the Black Lotus,” which broke off from the “anti‑capitalist” Turtle Island Liberation Front, allegedly intended to set pipe bombs at two Los Angeles companies.
Prosecutors say the group then planned to bomb federal immigration agents and their vehicles with pipe bombs from January or February 2026, hoping the detonations would “take some of them out and scare the rest of them,” according to the complaint.
The New Year’s Eve plan, dubbed “Operation Midnight Sun,” involved placing backpack‑packed explosives at the sites of the two firms, as revealed by a handwritten scheme recovered by investigators.
Authorities arrested four suspects: Audrey Carroll, 30, known on the street as “Asiginaak” and “black moon”; Zachary Page, 32, who went by “Ash Kerrigan,” “AK,” and “cthulu’s daughter”; Dante Garfield, 24, identified as “Cedar” or “Nomad”; and Tina Lai, 41, whose alias was “kickwhere.” During searches, officials discovered graffiti proclaiming “death to america,” “death to ICE,” and “long live Turstle Island and Palestine.”
The federal agents apprehended the men in Lucerne Valley, a spot in the Mojave Desert, where surveillance footage captured them attempting to ignite improvised explosive devices.
Los Angeles first assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli explained at a press briefing that each suspect now faces charges of conspiracy and possession of an unregistered destructive device. Additionally, a fifth, unnamed individual was detained in New Orleans while plotting a separate attack.
