Qualcomm India is putting the country ahead of the curve in the digital age, saying it will keep software and hardware that run on smartphones, smart homes and industrial machinery affordable and secure.
During the India Mobile Congress 2025 in New Delhi, the company rolled out a suite of new tools that could launch India into a fully connected era. From cutting‑edge Edge AI to 6G networking, Qualcomm showed how its inventions would help businesses and citizens stay smart and safe.
The company pitched a vision built on three simple ideas:
- Personal AI – smarter phones and gadgets that learn from you.
- Physical AI – machines that sense and react in real time, from cars to factories.
- Industrial AI – systems that run entire supply chains and businesses efficiently.
Qualcomm has been a partner in India’s tech parade since 3G, and it’s already invested in 6G labs and partnerships across the country.
“One of the biggest take‑aways from IMC 2025 is that Edge AI and 5G are the twin engines that will drive India’s digital future,” said Savi Soin, senior executive and president of Qualcomm India. “We’re proud to provide India‑first technology that meets the country’s needs in security, speed and innovation.”
Edge AI meets 5G
The demos focused on smart, instant intelligence at the edge – data stays on the device instead of going to cloud servers. Qualcomm’s platforms let industries like automotive, industrial IoT, smartphones and compute servers share insights with minimal delay.
The line‑up at the expo included:
- On‑device generative AI that writes text and images on smartphones, giving users creative control on the go.
- AI‑powered security cameras that detect threats automatically and warn local police in seconds.
- Wearable gadgets such as smartwatches and earbuds that adapt to your habits and preferences.
- Connected cars that share navigation, traffic and maintenance data in real time, boosting safety and reducing fuel usage.
Investing in talent and local partners
Qualcomm is not just dropping patents on the street – it is also training people. The company launched the Qualcomm AI Upskilling Programme: Technical Foundation. The course is open to students, developers and professionals who want to learn AI and machine‑learning fundamentals, Edge AI and generative AI. It even lets participants experiment on Qualcomm’s AI Hub, the world’s leading on‑device AI platform.
To expand its reach, Qualcomm signed new partnerships with local tech firms, creating a stronger ecosystem for Indian startups and enterprises.
A promise for India’s next wave
Qualcomm’s aim is clear: support the government’s Make in India drive, push for 6G, deliver smart solutions that run locally, and build a workforce ready for the next generation of tech. By aligning with policymakers, partners and talent, Qualcomm India is helping the country build a digital future that is bigger, faster and more affordable for everyone.
