The 18‑year‑old, Austin Lynch, returned to the courthouse on Wednesday with bandaged nose splints from a self‑inflicted shotgun wound. This was his first appearance since the November 26 shooting that claimed the life of Emily Finn, a promising SUNY student and ballet dancer. He was seen wearing a green‑and‑white striped shirt and sporting a faint peach‑fuzz beard and mustache. Prosecutors say Lynch chased after Finn in a fit of jealousy after she ended their three‑year relationship a few weeks earlier and, while she was at his house to close the chapter, he shot her in the head and then fired the shotgun at himself. He survived the second blast and now faces a murder charge. This story is still developing.
