Luigi Mangione pumped a fist in the courtroom as the marathon‑style evidence hearing in his high‑profile murder trial carried on Monday. During the session, he looked straight into the camera while leaning in close to listen to his defense counsel at the Manhattan Supreme Court. Mangione—aged 27—is charged with the December 4 murder of UnitedHealthcare’s CEO, Brian Thompson, in Midtown.
Earlier today, prosecutors posted photos showing a handwritten “to‑do” list that Mangione carried with him, along with other items found during his arrest last year. The list included a stop at Best Buy and a future “to‑do” involving a survival kit.
On the fourth day of the evidence‑suppression hearings, Christy Wasser from the Altoona Police Department was scheduled to testify about the search of Mangione’s backpack after his December 9 arrest at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, roughly 100 miles east of Pittsburgh. The photos released over the weekend also revealed a thumb drive in Mangione’s possession.
Mangione has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
