A California tourist was attacked and stabbed on the seventh‑floor bathroom of Macy’s Herald Square during Thursday’s holiday rush, police said. The 38‑year‑old, who was shopping with her husband, was cut in the back, shoulder, and arm at 3:13 p.m. after the assailant—a 43‑year‑old homeless woman—went on a violent spree. She was taken to Bellevue Hospital where she is reportedly stable. Authorities have arrested a female person of interest but have not yet filed charges. The incident is still under investigation. Macy’s has been asked for comment.
