Zachary Aaron Page, a 32‑year‑old trans woman accused of conspiring to bomb several U.S. company sites in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve, was turned down for bail on Friday. He will stay in a men’s facility even after pleading to be moved to a women’s prison.
In court, Page arrived in a neutral‑colored jumpsuit, his hair cut short and wearing glasses. He was joined by his lawyer, John Neil McNicholas, while friends and supporters filled the gallery.
The prosecutor’s team argued that Page is both a flight risk and a threat to public safety, whereas his attorney maintained that he does not pose a danger. Court filings also revealed that Page had been married to a woman, that he still owns a house in Long Beach where they lived, and that they share a four‑year‑old son.
Page, who has used the aliases “AK,” “Ash Kerrigan,” and “cthulu’s daughter,” is one of five suspects charged in a far‑left extremist plot linked to the Order of the Black Lotus—a splinter arm of the anti‑capitalist Turtle Island Liberation Front. Authorities say he volunteered to procure weapons for the group, even though he has never owned or fired a gun.
Other defendants in the case include Audrey Illeene Carroll (30), also known as “Asiginaak,” from South Los Angeles; Dante Gaffield (24), “Nomad,” from the same area; and Tina Lai (41), “Kickwhere,” of Glendale. A transgender Marine vet, Micah James Legnon (29), was later apprehended in connection with the alleged terror scheme.
The court documents show that the conspirators drafted an eight‑page handwritten blueprint titled “Operation Midnight Sun,” outlining how to plant backpack‑style pipe bombs at logistics centers operated by U.S. companies around Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve.
Prosecutors claim the plot expanded beyond property damage, with the group later planning to target ICE agents and vehicles with pipe bombs starting in early 2026, hoping to “take some of them out and scare the rest.”
The suspects were caught in Lucerne Valley, in the Mojave Desert, after video footage surfaced of them attempting to detonate improvised explosives. Subsequent search warrants uncovered messages such as “Death to America,” “Death to ICE,” and “Long live Turtle Island and Palestine.”
Legnon allegedly wanted to recreate the 1993 massacre carried out by the Davidians in Waco, Texas, which left four agents and over 70 civilians dead. He, who went by “Kateri TheWitch” and “DarkWitch She/Her” in online chats, appeared to be planning an attack in New Orleans to coincide with other assaults in Southern California, according to the complaint.
If found guilty, Page and his co‑accused could face heavy federal sentences for what authorities claim might be one of the most serious domestic terror plots in recent Southern Californian history.
