May this beautiful festival bring renewed joy, prosperity: PM Modi extends greetings on Onam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi sends warm Onam wishes to India
India celebrates the vibrant harvest festival of Onam with joy and enthusiasm. On September 5, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media to extend heartfelt greetings to everyone on this special occasion. He wished joy, good health, and prosperity for all, emphasizing the importance of unity and cultural pride that Onam symbolizes.
In his message on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi wrote, “Wishing everyone a very happy Onam! May this beautiful festival bring renewed joy, good health, and abundant prosperity to all. Onam reflects the timeless heritage and rich traditions of Kerala. This festival is a symbol of unity, hope, and cultural pride. May this occasion strengthen the spirit of harmony in our society and deepen our connection with nature.”
Onam is the grand harvest festival celebrated mainly in Kerala. It’s famous for its lively celebrations, traditional feasts called ‘Onam Sadhya,’ colorful floral decorations, and lively cultural performances. The festival also honors the legendary King Mahabali, whose homecoming is believed to bring prosperity and happiness.
People across India, especially the Malayali community from Kerala and around the world, celebrate Onam with great enthusiasm. The celebrations this year started on August 26 and wrapped up on September 5, with the main day being Thiruvonam, which is considered the most important day of the festival.
Political leaders also shared their Onam greetings. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath posted on X, “Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all the farmers and residents of our state on the sacred festival of Onam. This festival symbolizes prosperity, harmony, and cultural unity. May it bring happiness, prosperity, and well-being to everyone.”
Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge also expressed warm wishes, saying, “Onam is a celebration of life, hope, and our rich, diverse traditions. May the spirit of harvest, renewal, and traditional feast inspire togetherness, prosperity, and fraternity among all.”
As Kerala and Malayalis worldwide celebrate Onam, the festival remains a powerful reminder of India’s rich cultural heritage, unity, and inclusiveness. It’s a festival that brings people together to celebrate nature’s bounty and the timeless values of hope, harmony, and community.
