CVS Employee Fatally Stabbed During Christmas Shift on Long Island
At just 7 p.m. on Christmas Day, the Lindenhurst, Long Island, CVS on Montauk Highway became the scene of a tragic murder. Edeedson Cine, a 23‑year‑old employee, was found stabbed in the chest hours before the shop closed. The incident was confirmed by Suffolk County police, who say the attacker—a white male in his 40s—has not yet been apprehended.
Cine had worked at the store for the past 10 months. When his life was taken, the CVS team was “devastated” and called him “a valued member of the store team, known for his strong work ethic and dedication.” The company noted that his loss would be “missed by all of us.”
After 911 operators received a call, first responders rushed to the pharmacy only to find the injured employee. He was immediately transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead.
Police released minimal information about what sparked the attack, or whether the victim and suspect had any prior connection. They described the assailant simply as “a white man in his 40s,” noting that he fled the scene and remains at large.
CVS has sent out a statement offering support to Cine’s family, friends and colleagues. “Our thoughts are with Edeedson’s family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time,” the spokesperson said.
The case remains open, and authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Suffolk County Police Department.
