WASHINGTON – On Christmas Eve, former President Joe Biden posted an unexpected family snapshot to X, sparking a flurry of reactions among followers. The photo, shared around 9 p.m., featured him and seven relatives gathered before a Christmas tree, and he added a message wishing the audience a “peaceful and joyful Christmas Eve filled with love.”
In a surprising arrangement, Joe himself didn’t take the spotlight. Instead, his son Hunter—once known by the Secret Service code name “Chieftain”—took the front seat, closely followed by his daughter Maisy. The former first lady Jill Biden holds Biden’s face in a corner of the frame. Completing the group are Jill’s daughter Ashley, Hunter’s wife Melissa Cohen, and two other grandchildren.
A viewer replied, “Took me a while to find ya, champ,” with a screenshot zooming in on Biden’s position, while another asked, “Where’s Joe?” Many others, meanwhile, sent their holiday wishes to the 83‑year‑old former president, who is currently undergoing treatment for leukemia that has spread to his bones.
Biden, who served as the oldest U.S. president, was persuaded by fellow Democrats to abandon his 2024 reelection bid last year after concerns over his mental fitness rose sharply following a tumultuous debate against President Trump.
