The U.S. Treasury has added an Indian firm to its sanctions list, saying the company has ties—through one of its directors—to Iran’s missile and drone program.
Farmlane Private Limited, based in Chandigarh, was named alongside 31 other businesses and individuals. The Treasury says the firm is linked to a supply chain that feeds Iran’s missile and drone projects. While the agency does not charge Farmlane with directly supplying rocket parts, it says the company’s director, Marco Klinge, is part of the network that uses Chinese suppliers.
Klinge, who lives in the United Arab Emirates, is a German citizen, the Office of Foreign Assets Control noted. Under the sanctions, he and Farmlane can no longer access U.S. financial systems, and any assets they hold in the United States are frozen.
The move comes after the U.N. reinstated sanctions on Iran on September 27 because the country breached the 2015 nuclear deal. Tommy Pigott, the State Department’s Principal Deputy Spokesperson, said the U.S. is “now putting maximum pressure on Iran to end its nuclear threat” and urged the international community to enforce the new U.N. sanctions fully.
Treasury officials said the list includes entities from Germany, Ukraine, Turkey, China, Hong Kong and Iran, all running procurement networks that support Iran’s weapon programs.
