In Patna on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed out appointment letters to more than 4,000 new workers hired by the Bihar government. The recipients, many of whom had spent months waiting for news, burst into cheers and tears of gratitude as they received their official papers. “Today is a very special day,” said one candidate. “It gives me confidence and lets me serve my family and community.” Another added, “The letter means a secure job, and I’m grateful.” An ITI employee simply said, “I’m happy to have my appointment letter today.”
The ceremony was part of a larger push by the Modi government to boost job creation and skills training. Earlier that day, he launched a youth‑focussed program worth ₹62,000 crore at the Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh in New Delhi. The event also unveiled new projects aimed at empowering young people in Bihar, a “guarantee of a bright future,” Modi told the crowd.
The Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh is the fourth National Skill Convocation, where 46 all‑India ITI toppers were celebrated. Modi also addressed the youth of Bihar virtually, highlighting plans for education, skilling, and employment. The session drew a packed auditorium in Patna, with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary in attendance.
Speaking to the audience, Nitish Kumar reflected on the tradition of large‑scale ITI convocations. “Today’s ceremony shows how important India is making skills,” he said. “We’re launching two major education and skill‑development projects for young people across the country.” He urged students to embrace hard work, calling it a path to a bright future.
The event underscored the Modi government’s commitment to putting youth in the spotlight, offering them clear career paths and new opportunities for growth. As the newly hired workers packed up their letter envelopes, the mood was one of hope and excitement, signaling a new chapter for both the Bihar workforce and the country’s skill‑building agenda.
