Patna, Nov 22 (LatestNewsX) – The Jan Suraaj Party has pulled its blades and is shutting down all of its organisational units, from the panchayat level right up to the state apparatus, effective immediately. The decision was taken during this Saturday’s meeting of the party’s National Council at Sheikh Pura House in Patna. President Uday Singh was absent, so Bihar unit chief Manoj Bharti presided, while Jan Suraaj Coordinator Prashant Kishor attended.
According to the party, the old committees will remain operational until a new structure can be erected over the next one‑and‑a‑half months. Senior leaders have been allocated responsibility for each of the 12 administrative divisions in Bihar, with the mandate to reconstruct a strong and functional framework in their respective districts. They will also conduct a thorough review of the reasons behind the party’s defeat in the recent assembly election, presenting a detailed report to the central leadership on any members accused of indiscipline or sabotage.
Masihuddin added that a General Council meeting has been scheduled for 21 December in Patna, where top leaders will gather candid feedback from district heads about the party’s performance and organisational challenges, while drafting a fresh roadmap for the future. The party contested the Bihar Assembly elections independently, securing no seats. Convener Prashant Kishor has already announced the relaunch of the outreach programme in preparation for upcoming contests.
