New Delhi – On Oct 8, Nokia and Vodafone Idea unveiled cutting‑edge tech at India’s biggest telecom event, the Indian Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025. The two telecom giants highlighted how new technologies can boost everyday life for Indian consumers and strengthen the country’s growing position in global markets.
Nokia’s head of Technology and Solutions, Sandeep Saxena, said that the event’s theme, “Innovate to Transform,” fits perfectly with Nokia’s mission. The company, which has been in India for nearly 30 years, runs local manufacturing and R&D facilities and works closely with government policies. Saxena told reporters that Nokia is a global leader in tech and that the firm “creates innovations to transform the world and improve people’s lives.”
At the show, Nokia presented an AI hub that demonstrates how artificial intelligence is woven into every part of the network – from the core, radio, to transport layers. The goal is to give operators smarter tools for automated network management and faster service roll‑outs.
Vladivideos for the crowd, Vodafone Idea’s Executive Vice President for Digital and Partnerships, Nitin Jain, showcased the brand’s “Skill India” initiative. The company demonstrates self‑learning tools powered by mixed reality, AI, and 4G/5G connectivity. These tools aim to up‑skill workers and students across the country.
Jain also highlighted fraud prevention. Using data analytics and AI, Vodafone Idea can spot potential fraud and spam in real time, protecting customers from hidden charges and scams.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that India’s “Made‑in‑India 4G stack” is ready for export. He praised the country’s progress under the “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” vision, noting that almost every district now enjoys 5G connectivity – a sharp leap from the 2G era.
The event underscored India’s rapid rise in the telecom sector and how new tech—from AI and mixed reality to robust 4G/5G networks—can elevate user experience across the nation.
