Nagpur, Nov. 23 – Union Minister Nitin Gadkari urged the adoption of technology and AI to lift agricultural output and increase farmers’ earnings. Speaking at Agrovision 2025’s AI‑in‑agriculture workshop, he said: “We need to form an organisation of farmer producer companies for the progress and development of farmers. With farmer producer companies, they can utilise agriculture equipment, tractor, harvester and other things and it will make it easy to pay loans.” The minister added that district‑level commissionerates should resolve all farmer issues through these cooperatives.
Agrovision—where Gadkari serves as chief patron—highlighted various initiatives aimed at crop diversification and overall farming improvement in Maharashtra. Mahindra & Mahindra showcased a range of alternative‑fuel tractors at the event, built at its Research Valley in Chennai. “Mahindra is committed to leading India’s shift to alternative fuel technologies and driving cleaner, smarter, and sustainable farming solutions. Our presence at Agrovision 2025 underscores this commitment as we showcase innovative tractors and technologies that will shape the future of Indian agriculture, aligned with the Government of India’s vision toward achieving net‑zero carbon emissions by 2070,” said Veejay Nakra, President, Farm Equipment Business, Mahindra & Mahindra.
The company displayed CNG and Compressed Biogas (CBG) tractors that it claims deliver operational efficiency while also making farming more economical and eco‑friendly. It also presented an electric tractor, described as a bold move toward sustainable agriculture, combining zero‑emission technology with high performance. According to the statement, the electric model offers farmers instant torque, no power drop‑outs, and a consistently smooth, reliable operating experience.
