Jind, Nov 26 (LatestNewsX) – The Indian Postal Department has rolled out a range of measures aimed at boosting its popularity and highlighting its more than 150‑year heritage in a way that connects people like never before.

To make postal services more accessible to students and first‑time subscribers, Speed Post now comes with a 10 per cent discount for students and a 5 per cent reduction for new bulk customers. The savings have attracted many young patrons, who are increasingly turning up at post offices and choosing OTP‑based Speed Post deliveries over private courier options.

In Rajasthan’s Jind district, a few students told LatestNewsX how the cheaper rates are meeting their everyday needs. Since the scheme launched on November 1, postal workers report that 15–20 students stop by daily to ship their items via the discounted Speed Post service.

Kavita, an MA candidate, said she used to send books to other cities by Speed Post, which left her with a hefty bill. Now, the 10 per cent student discount has eased her financial burden, freeing up funds for other study expenses.

Postmaster Naresh Kumar praised the initiative, noting that the footfall of students to the post office has surged as they send books and other items more frequently than before.

This latest move is part of India Post’s broader effort to evolve into a secure, transparent, and tech‑savvy service provider. By bringing in sustainable innovations, Speed Post continues to adapt to changing customer demands while reaffirming its position as India’s most reliable and affordable delivery partner.
