Mumbai, November 17 () – Bollywood star and multi‑talent Farhan Akhtar recently found himself in the spotlight for a different reason: a new episode from his cousin, director‑choreographer Farah Khan, brought a flashback to his school days on her YouTube channel.
In the video, Farah visited Farhan’s house and chuckled about how the actor had struggled academically. He remembers the day his exam marks were low and he had a hard time getting into a good college. “His scores were very bad,” Farah said, adding, “The principal said, ‘I’m letting him in because of Javed Akhtar sahab, but honestly, he doesn’t deserve it.’”
Farhan agreed, saying he “proved her right.” The episode shows the family awkwardly crossing Marine Drive, when Farhan asked for “Anand ka masala milk” in a moment that made his father frown. He admitted he “was never really interested in college.”
The video adds some family warmth to the story. Farah and Farhan are first cousins: their mothers, Menaka Irani and Honey Irani, are sisters.
While his past may have included shaky grades, Farhan’s present is set for new successes. He is preparing for his upcoming film 120 Bahadur, where he will play Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, a decorated war hero of the Sino‑Indian War. The Major led the 13th Battalion of the Kumaon Regiment in the Chushul sector. In a fierce battle on 18 November 1962, the Chinese attacked the post, and the Indians fought bravely before eventually being overrun. Singh kept moving between posts, reorganizing defenses and boosting his men’s morale without cover.
With 120 Bahadur, Farhan Akhtar is once again stepping into a powerful role, bringing his experience as an actor, director, producer and singer to a story of bravery and sacrifice. The film promises to be another highlight in his rising film career.
