Mumbai: On Sunday, actress Kajol posted a touching tribute to seasoned actor Dharmendra, remarking that his passing has left the world “poorer.”
She shared an Instagram photo showing Dharmendra seated beside her son Yug, with a warm smile and his arm around the little boy.
The caption read: “The OG of the Good Man is gone and the world is poorer for it.. somehow it seems like we are only losing the good people in it. Kind to the core and loved always . RIP Dharamji …with love always.”
Kajol and Dharmendra have worked together in several films. They first appeared together in the 1995 movie “Taaqat,” directed by Talat Jani and starring Shatrughan Sinha and Vikas Bhalla, which centers on two powerful gangsters aligned with rival political parties.
They later shared the screen in the 1998 blockbuster “Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya.” Written and directed by Sohail Khan, the film features his brothers Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan, with Kajol as the female lead and Dharmendra in a key supporting role.
That story follows Suraj, a young man who falls for Muskan. A fiercely protective brother turns his dislike toward Suraj, forcing him to earn the affection of both the brother and the uncle before he can win Muskan’s heart.
Dharmendra’s final appearance will be in ‘Ikkis,’ helmed by acclaimed director Sriram Raghavan. The veteran made his film debut in the 1960 classic Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere and most recently appeared in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya.
Kajol herself is set to star in “Sarzameen,” directed by Kayoze Irani. The movie, featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Ibrahim Ali Khan, is set in Kashmir and tells the story of an Indian Army officer who discovers his estranged son has joined a militant group.
