Mumbai, Nov 10 – Bollywood veteran Master Raju looked back on a special moment with the late film icon Asrani. On Instagram he posted a still from their 1975 thriller Uljhan and shared a heart‑warming caption that said, “Another memorable picture with the late Asrani ji from the film ‘Uljhan’ (1975).”
The picture comes from a suspense thriller directed by Raghunath Jhalani that features stars like Ashok Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Farida Jalal, Aruna Irani, and the debut performance of singer‑actress Sulakshana Pandit. Uljhan is a remake of the 1959 murder mystery Kangan and follows a police officer (Sanjeev Kumar) as he uncovers a killer who is closer than he thinks.
Just before posting the photo, Master Raju remembered his colleague who had recently passed away. On October 1, the famous comic actor Asrani died at 84 from a chest infection, according to his manager and friend. The official Instagram account of the actor shared a tribute, calling Asrani the “king of comedy” who brought joy to millions with his unique acting and humor.
Master Raju, who has appeared in around 200 films, is known for classics such as Parichay (Gulzar), Bawarchi (Hrishikesh Mukherjee), and Daag: A Poem of Love (Yash Chopra). His nostalgic post celebrates the friendship and shared screen time with Asrani, reminding fans of the lasting impact both actors have had on Bollywood cinema.
