Mumbai, Nov 27 (LatestNewsX) – Actor‑filmmaker Rishab Shetty spent an afternoon in Goa with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, discussing everything from the power of cinema to the state’s cultural treasures and current development projects.
After the meeting, Rishab posted several photos on Instagram, capturing the moment at Mahalaxmi in Altinho, Panjim. The pictures show the filmmaker, his wife Pragathi, and the chief minister together. He described the gathering as warm and engaging, noting how impressed he was by the CM’s perspective on Goa’s expanding creative scene and its vibrant cultural spirit.
In the caption under his post, he shared:
“Had a wonderful time with the Honourable Chief Minister of Goa, @drpramodpsawant Ji, at Mahalaxmi, Altinho, Panjim. Our conversation about Goa, cinema, development, and the state’s rich cultural spirit was insightful,” Rishab wrote.
The filmmaker’s newest film, the box‑office hit “Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1”, follows the story of a prequel to the 2022 hit Kantara. It delves deeper into the origins of the tradition and the ancestral conflicts introduced in the original. Set against the backdrop of pre‑colonial coastal Karnataka, the movie explores the ancient roots of the Bhuta Kola ritual, weaving together regional folklore, spirituality, and action to continue the saga of humanity’s relationship with nature and the divine.
Kantara, released in 2022, also centered on Bhuta Kola, a local form of worship. It follows a Kambala champion who finds himself at odds with a principled forest officer, sparking a larger clash over sacred land, ancestral legacy, and the balance between nature and law.
Speaking about his career, Rishab debuted on screen in 2012 with Tuglak. He later took on a key role in Ulidavaru Kandante and made his directorial debut with Ricky in 2016. His subsequent film Kirik Party was a commercial hit, and he has since appeared in Bell Bottom, Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana, and Kantara.
