Bhopal, Sep 9: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is over the moon about C.P. Radhakrishnan’s big win as India’s 15th Vice President. He shared his excitement on social media and praised the new VP’s dedication to the people.
“Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to C.P. Radhakrishnan ji on becoming the 15th Vice-President of our country,” Yadav posted on X, reaching out to fans and followers across India.
In a quick video message to the media, the Chief Minister highlighted how Radhakrishnan has spent his life working for public welfare. He pointed out that even many opposition MPs voted for him, which shows the true spirit of the BJP party. Yadav also gave a shoutout to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s famous slogan: Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas.
Yadav called the Vice Presidential election a shining example of India’s strong democracy. “In a world where many countries face political chaos, getting support from opposition MPs proves our democratic power and beauty. This trust comes from faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he added.
Radhakrishnan clinched the Vice President election on Tuesday with a solid 452 votes. His opponent from the opposition, B. Sudershan Reddy, got 300 votes, as announced by election returning officer P.C. Mody.
Out of 767 MPs who showed up to vote—that’s a whopping 98.2% turnout—752 votes counted as valid, while 15 got rejected. One postal ballot didn’t count because the MP decided not to vote.
This win comes after former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar stepped down on July 22 for health reasons, following medical advice to focus on his well-being.
