Mumbai, Nov. 15 – The Gujarat Titans are putting a renewed focus on consistency as they lock in their squad for the 2026 Indian Premier League. The club kept home‑grown captain Shubman Gill and key all‑round performers such as Jos Buttler, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada on board. The franchise officially filed its final player list with the BCCI on the November 15 deadline.

After a mostly steady 2025 season, where GT stayed in the upper half of the table for most of the league stage, the team stumbled at the end, losing the last three games – including the Eliminator against Mumbai Indians. Rather than major reshuffling, the Titans’ management chose a “minimal chopping” approach. The goal is to reinforce the core that powered their recent success and to keep the squad stable heading into the next season.

A total of 19 players have been retained. Alongside the veteran core, the Titans also secured bright young talent such as Sai Sudharsan, Nishant Sindhu, Manav Suthar and Kumar Kushagra. Experienced all‑rounders Washington Sundar, Shahrukh Khan and Sai Kishore were also kept. The pace attack remains a mix of proven names – Siraj, Rabada, Prasidh Krishna and Ishant Sharma – with Jayant Yadav and Gurnoor Singh Brar adding depth.

The biggest change is the departure of West Indies batsman Sherfane Rutherford, who has joined Mumbai Indians. Five players were released: Mahipal Lomror, Karim Janat, Dasun Shanaka, Gerald Coetzee and Kulwant Khejroliya. The overhaul is relatively small, preserving much of the team’s chemistry.

With Gill at the helm, Buttler leadership on the field, Rashid at the top order, and Siraj–Rabada leading the bowling, the Titans approach the December mini‑auction with clear direction. They only need to fill specific gaps as they look to build on their 2025 campaign and tackle the 2026 season.

Key roster moves

  • Retained: Shubman Gill (c), Sai Sudharsan, Kumar Kushagra, Anuj Rawat, Jos Buttler, Nishant Sindhu, Washington Sundar, Arshad Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Rahul Tewatia, Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Ishant Sharma, Gurnoor Singh Brar, Rashid Khan, Manav Suthar, Sai Kishore, Jayant Yadav.
  • Released: Mahipal Lomror, Karim Janat, Dasun Shanaka, Gerald Coetzee, Kulwant Khejroliya.
  • Traded: Sherfane Rutherford to Mumbai Indians.

As the Titans gear up for the 2026 season, fans can expect a stable lineup that blends seasoned stars with promising newcomers, keeping the team competitive and ready for the IPL’s next chapter.
