Puneri Paltan pulled off an exciting double win against Bengal Warriorz in the Pro Kabaddi League, ending Season 12’s high-scoring match with a 49-44 victory at Chennai’s SDAT Multi Purpose Indoor Stadium on Tuesday.
Aditya Shinde starred with 18 points, including a Super 10, while Pankaj Mohite added 10 points and his own Super 10 to drive Puneri Paltan to the top. For Bengal Warriorz, Devank Dalal exploded for 25 points and became the first player to hit 150 raid points in PKL Season 12.
The game kicked off fast. Aslam Inamdar grabbed Puneri Paltan’s first points with a quick raid, and Vishal Bhardwaj sealed it by tackling Devank Dalal early on. That set a strong tone for the Season 10 champs. Bengal Warriorz fired back though—Ashish Malik tackled Aditya Shinde for their opening score, and Himanshu Narwal added a two-point raid. Pankaj Mohite matched it right away with his own two-pointer, keeping things tight at 9-7 after the first 10 minutes.
Puneri Paltan hit their groove soon after. Abinesh Nadarajan’s tackle on Devank triggered the game’s first All Out, giving them a five-point lead. Shinde and Mohite kept the raids coming to stay in control. Bengal Warriorz hung tough, with their captain and Himanshu Narwal pushing back. The first half wrapped up thrillingly at 21-18 for Puneri Paltan.
The second half exploded with energy. Puneri Paltan started strong with a Super Tackle on Devank, but Manprit chipped in for Bengal Warriorz with a two-point raid. Devank found his rhythm too. Aslam Inamdar tackled Devank for another Super Tackle, but Devank got revenge by leading an All Out that narrowed the gap to 30-27.
Pankaj Mohite’s Super Raid quickly rebuilt Puneri Paltan’s six-point edge. Bengal Warriorz battled on, and Devank completed his Super 10, cutting the lead to four points before the final stretch.
As the match went down to the wire, Aditya Shinde stepped up big. His crucial Super Raid finished his Super 10 and put Puneri Paltan in command. Abinesh Nadarajan sealed the second All Out, pushing the score to 46-35 with under five minutes left. Puneri Paltan held firm to clinch the Pro Kabaddi League win in this nail-biter.
