Dabang Delhi KC Dominates Gujarat Giants in Thrilling Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 Clash
In a high-energy showdown at the Vishwanadh Sports Club in Vizag, Andhra Pradesh, Dabang Delhi KC crushed Gujarat Giants 38-28 on Thursday. This win capped off the Vizag leg of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 12, keeping Dabang Delhi’s unbeaten streak alive with five straight victories.
Skipper Ashu Malik stole the show, racking up 14 points with his lightning-fast raids. Defending like a wall, Fazel Atrachali notched a High Five, anchoring the team’s solid backline. As the table-toppers, Dabang Delhi controlled the game from the start, leading 8-6 after 10 minutes. Ajinkya Pawar teamed up with Ashu for five crucial raid points, while Fazel and Sandeep Dhull shut down Gujarat’s attacks. Ajinkya shone in tense Do-Or-Die moments, and Ashu even dismissed key rival Shadloui to keep the pressure on.
Gujarat Giants fought back early, with raider Aryavardhan Navale grabbing three points and Rakesh adding a couple of strikes. But they missed chances in Do-Or-Die raids and couldn’t capitalize on Dabang Delhi’s empty efforts, leaving the first phase neck-and-neck.
Things flipped in the second half. Sandeep Deswal tackled Rakesh, and Ashu fired off back-to-back raids, taking out Shubham Kumar and Sumit. This left Gujarat with just one player, Parteek Dahiya, who Fazel quickly brought down for the first ALL OUT. Shadloui couldn’t get going, failing to score, while Ashu bounced back strong with two multi-point raids for his fifth consecutive Super 10. Ajinkya’s support helped Dabang Delhi head into halftime with a comfy 21-14 lead.
Post-break, another ALL OUT threatened Gujarat, but Rakesh clawed back with a touch on Surjeet Singh and a Super Tackle when Ashu slipped up. It was short-lived, though. Before the third quarter ended, Dabang Delhi struck again—Saurabh Nandal tackled Rakesh, Fazel downed Aryavardhan, and Ashu touched out Shadloui for the second ALL OUT. The score jumped to 31-21 with 10 minutes left.
Gujarat tried a late push. Parteek Dahiya raided successfully against Neeraj Narwal and pulled off a multi-point raid on Surjeet and Sandeep. Shadloui finally got on the board with tackles on Ajinkya and Mohit. But Dabang Delhi matched every move. Fazel sealed his High Five by tackling Parteek, wrapping up the 10-point win under Ashu Malik’s steady leadership.
