On Sunday, a unique “Cricket West Indies Golf Day” opened the green at Qutub Golf Course in New Delhi. The event brought together West Indies cricket’s biggest names—Sir Vivian Richards, Brian Lara, and Sir Richie Richardson—with current stars Shai Hope and Roston Chase. They played alongside business leaders and celebrities, turning a simple round of golf into a networking festival that celebrated Caribbean cricket on an international stage.

TCM Sports, the long‑time partner of Cricket West Indies (CWI), organized the day to reinforce CWI’s global image. CWI chief executive Chris Dehring and chief commercial officer Rupert Hunter welcomed fans, sponsors, and key guests. They stressed that the golf event was part of a broader strategy to strengthen CWI’s brand worldwide and create fresh commercial opportunities while the men’s team continued its international tour.

The partnership with India’s Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) added a special twist. IGPL CEO Uttam Mundy said the collaboration shows how golf can unite cultures and promote the sport across borders. “It’s more than a golf day,” Mundy told reporters. “It’s about blending cultures, celebrating excellence, and showing golf’s universal appeal.”

After the cut‑throat matches, attendees moved into a relaxed dinner. Caribbean music, food, and lively conversation turned the night into a close‑knit celebration of the Windies’ rich heritage and future ambition.

Key takeaways:

– Cricket West Indies hosted its first golf‑based networking event in India, featuring legends and current stars.
– The day highlighted CWI’s ambition to become a global sporting brand beyond the cricket field.
– TCM Sports and IGPL helped bridge cricket and golf, offering new engagement channels for fans and sponsors.
– The event ended with an intimate dinner that blended West Indian hospitality with Indian flair, underscoring the cultural synergy forged on the green.

This gathering demonstrates how cricket can cross into other sports arenas, building lasting connections while honoring the spirit of the West Indies team.
