PKL 12: Nitin Kumar’s Super 10 leads Jaipur Pink Panthers comeback to clinch tie-breaker against U Mumba

In a thrilling Pro Kabaddi League match at Jaipur’s SMS Indoor Stadium, the Jaipur Pink Panthers pulled off a stunning comeback to beat U Mumba 6-4 in the tie-break after a 38-38 deadlock in regular time. The crowd in Rajasthan’s pink city buzzed with excitement on September 23 as these PKL powerhouses traded blows in one of the season’s most intense games.

Nitin Kumar starred for the Pink Panthers with a Super 10, while Reza Mirbagheri added four key tackles and Vinay chipped in with six successful raids. Over on U Mumba’s side, Sandeep Kumar’s Super 10 wasn’t enough to secure the win, as per the official PKL release.

The Pink Panthers jumped out to a fast start, grabbing a 6-0 lead in the first five minutes. Nitin Kumar dominated with four points from raids, and Aryan Kumar plus Reza Mirbagheri nailed a couple of tackles to put the home team in charge. U Mumba finally got on the board with a bonus point from Sathish Kannan, but they trailed badly at 9-1 after Jaipur’s first All Out.

Ali Samadi shone for Jaipur on both raid and defense, pushing their lead into double digits. U Mumba fought back late in the quarter, thanks to tackles from Lokesh Ghosliya and Parvesh Bhainswal, narrowing it to 12-5.

Sandeep Kumar kept raiding for U Mumba, and their defense clicked into gear. Lokesh Ghosliya’s tackle sparked an All Out on Jaipur, tying the score at a two-point game. Sandeep then nailed a Super Raid to give U Mumba a slim one-point edge.

The first half turned into a real edge-of-your-seat battle. Jaipur owned the opening stretch, but U Mumba flipped the script in the second quarter, outscoring them 8-0 to lead 17-16 at halftime. These Season 2 champions from U Mumba showed why they’re PKL contenders.

The action stayed fierce after the break. U Mumba cranked up the pressure with another All Out, powered by strong defense. Sandeep Kumar hit his Super 10 with yet another Super Raid and set up a third All Out, stretching their lead to 33-24.

Sunil Kumar finally scored his first points with a tackle on Ali Samadi, helping U Mumba control the pace. But Reza Mirbagheri and Nitin Kumar fought hard for Jaipur, cutting the gap to eight points with five minutes left.

In true PKL drama, Jaipur mounted a massive rally at the end. Nitin Kumar finished his Super 10 with clutch raids, bringing the score within one. Deepanshu Khatri’s tackle tied it at 38-38 with seconds to spare, sending the game to its first tie-break of the Jaipur leg.

The Pink Panthers stayed cool under pressure in the tie-break. Their raiders fired on all cylinders when it counted, clinching the 6-4 victory and keeping their PKL playoff hopes alive. What a night for kabaddi fans in Jaipur!
