Chennai, India – The first-ever Integral Cup wrapped up with huge excitement at IIT Bombay from August 28 to 31, 2025. This groundbreaking Integration Bee mathematics competition drew massive crowds and crowned S Matheshwaran from IIT Madras as the top champion. Tanmay Budda from IISc Bangalore took second place, while Shobhit Jain from IIT Bhilai grabbed third.
More than 3,000 students jumped into the action, hailing from 20 top institutions across India, including IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, and IISc Bangalore. Twenty-one sharp finalists made it to the grand stage after battling it out in tough campus rounds.
Organizers set up the Integral Cup in three clear phases to spot real math talent. First, students faced off in offline events at their local colleges to earn a spot as their school’s rep. Only the best advanced to the high-stakes finale at IIT Bombay, keeping things fair and intense.
All the challenges zeroed in on integration problems – a key part of math that sharpens analytical skills and problem-solving chops.
Winners walked away with prizes totaling ₹19 lakhs, celebrating standout math prowess. Plus, every finalist got full support: free flights, rides around town, hotel stays, and meals, so money worries didn’t hold anyone back.
STEMvibe Foundation and Vedant Samanvaya teamed up to run the event. Piyush Kumar Jha and Sukanya Sonowal founded these groups to boost India’s STEM education with fun, industry-supported contests and community programs that spark innovation and tech leadership worldwide.
“The Integral Cup is now the world’s largest Integration Bee competition, and we’re thrilled it kicked off right here in India,” said Sukanya Sonowal, the project’s lead and current head of PR and communications at CYPAN in London. “We plan to roll out more events tied to the National Education Policy (NEP) to help build Viksit Bharat 2047.”
The competition lines up spot-on with India’s NEP 2020, pushing critical thinking, creativity, and cross-discipline learning. By diving deep into math basics like integration, it helps fuel the country’s goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
The Integral Cup stands out as India’s top Integration Bee mathematics competition, hunting for and growing top talent from the nation’s leading tech schools. STEMvibe Foundation and Vedant Samanvaya keep driving India’s STEM scene forward through hands-on events and local initiatives that pave the way for global breakthroughs.
