In Pakistan’s Balochistan province, two young men from the same family turned up dead after disappearing days earlier, with locals pointing fingers at the country’s security forces. Faheem, son of Qasim, and Baqir Baloch, son of Allah Bakhsh, both lived in Cheedgi village in Awaran district. Reports from The Balochistan Post say security forces grabbed Faheem from Awaran’s main market on September 11 and snatched Baqir from the nearby Jhao area the next day. On September 22, people found their bodies dumped by the roadside near Majid Pir Cross in Jhao—a grim scene that has locals reeling.
Rights activists and Baloch nationalist groups are furious, calling this another case of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings by Pakistani security forces in Balochistan. They note these attacks have spiked in recent months, fueling worries about human rights violations in the restive region. Pakistani officials keep denying any role, but groups like The Balochistan Post and international watchdogs keep tracking and blasting the pattern, including punishments aimed at families of suspected rebels.
In other troubling news from Balochistan, authorities detained student Sher Zaman, son of Ghulam Qadir, from a hostel at Degree College Sariab in Quetta. His family and classmates demand his quick release, as he’s now held in an unknown spot. Over in Panjgur district’s Paroom area, troops raided the home of Baloch Liberation Army fighter Gwahram Baloch, known as Zagrain. They beat family members and arrested his uncle, Karim Jan, according to witnesses.
