Finland is stepping up its game to lure top international experts and cutting-edge researchers in deep tech fields. The new campaign spotlights exciting career opportunities alongside the high quality of life in this Nordic gem.
Work in Finland, the country’s go-to organization for international recruitment, is leading the charge. They’re targeting talented professionals from places like India, Brazil, the United States, and various European nations. The goal? Ramp up Finland’s innovation power and create more jobs.
“This campaign will put the Finnish innovation scene on the global map and nudge international experts to grab the chances it offers,” said Minister of Employment Matias Marttinen in a statement. “Finland has massive potential to lead in deep tech areas, and we’re backing that vision all the way.”
What makes Finland stand out? The push highlights the country’s knack for blending ambition with balance—think top-notch work-life harmony paired with groundbreaking research in areas like quantum computing, photonics, and health technology. Officials point to Finland’s welcoming, stable society, strong tech know-how, and overall great living standards as big draws for foreign specialists.
The effort will help Finnish companies, universities, and research centers snag global talent, especially in those hot deep tech sectors. It also supports the Research Council of Finland in drawing more overseas researchers to local universities.
“Competition is heating up worldwide in quantum computing, photonics, and health technology,” noted Laura Lindeman, senior director at Work in Finland. “Bringing in talent from abroad keeps Finland competitive in innovation and pulls in international business.”
This initiative ties into the broader Talent Boost program, aiming to position Finland as one of the world’s top spots for high-tech pros to live and work by 2030.
