AAP, Congress, Akali Dal running false propaganda on Constitutional Bill: BJP

Chandigarh, Nov 23 – (LatestNewsX) Ashwani Sharma, the Working President of the Punjab BJP, slammed the Aam Aadmi Party, the Congress, and the Shiromani Akali Dal on Sunday. He said the three opposition factions are colluding only for political benefit and spreading false, misleading propaganda against him and his party.

Sharma pointed out that a recent statement from the central government on X made clear that no Constitutional Bill concerning Chandigarh would be presented to the Lok Sabha during the winter session. “Therefore, the atmosphere of fear created by the AAP government and the Opposition is nothing but a political drama,” he added.

He went on to affirm that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Centre have always been “pro‑Punjab”. “The BJP has protected Punjab’s rights at every step – whether it is the water issue, Chandigarh, or any other matter touching Punjab’s interests,” he said.

In a biting critique of the AAP, Congress, and the Akali Dal, Sharma claimed that these parties care little for Punjab and, in pursuit of power, are creating a false narrative against the BJP. He called out the AAP government for failing to honor its election promises, controlling criminal networks and illegal mining, and providing adequate compensation to flood victims. “To divert public attention from all this, they are making baseless allegations against the BJP,” Sharma said.

He noted that the AAP’s pattern is to blame every failure on the BJP. Regarding the Congress and the Akali Dal, he accused them of blaming the BJP for the longstanding issues of water, Chandigarh, and centre‑state relations, which, according to him, stem from the mistakes of these older parties. “They couldn’t solve these problems themselves and now want to mislead people again by blaming the BJP. But those historic errors cannot be swept under the rug any longer,” he asserted.

Sharma portrayed the Akali Dal as targeting the BJP only to salvage the little political ground they still hold. He added that the Congress is frightened now, as the BJP is emerging as a strong contender, effectively replacing them in Punjab. “Therefore, the Congress, together with AAP and the Akalis, is feeding false propaganda against the BJP,” he said.

Assuring his party’s dedication to Punjab, Sharma promised that whenever issues affecting the state arise, the BJP would secure a Punjab‑friendly solution by working closely with the central government. “The BJP does not play politics for the sake of power – it serves only the welfare and interests of Punjab’s people,” he concluded.
