Kolkata, Nov 22 (LatestNewsX) – The West Bengal government ordered district magistrates to keep development projects moving forward even while the Election Commission carries out its Special Intensive Revision (SIR) program in the state. Since many SIR staff also handle local administrative duties, officials were cautioned not to let their department’s work suffer. Chief Secretary Manoj Pant clarified that the SIR should proceed on schedule, but state development programmes must not be disrupted. In a long virtual conference with the magistrates on Saturday, several key points were raised. Sources at the secretariat noted that the work already underway by various ministries needs to continue without pause and to finish on time. The Secretary reiterated this point multiple times. He invoked the “Amar Para‑Amar Samadhan” initiative, demanding fast completion and a prompt report. He also reminded the magistrates to support the families of BLOs who recently lost their lives during SIR‑related tasks. Additionally, the “Banglar Bari” project is in progress, with beneficiary lists being prepared; this effort must also be completed by January next year. The meeting emphasized that rural road works should not be interrupted. Beyond development matters, the performance of about ten to twelve government departments was reviewed.
