Clashes erupted in Bihar’s Munger district on Saturday when two communities argued over land for a graveyard in Farahda village. One person suffered a leg injury, and police arrested 22 people involved in the violence.
Munger’s Superintendent of Police, Sayyad Imran Masood, said his team moved fast to calm things down. “We got the alert and rushed officers from the Sadar SDPO and nearby stations to the scene,” Masood explained. The groups threw stones and even fired shots during the fight.
Police filed an FIR at Safiasarai station and rushed the injured man to Sadar Hospital for care. Now, extra officers patrol the village to keep tensions low. “Everything’s under control, and we’re investigating further,” Masood added.
In a separate incident, authorities in Araria district’s Jogbani town arrested a man named Aryan Shah for posting offensive content about Prophet Mohammad on Instagram. The post sparked unrest, with some people trying to shut down markets on Friday.
It all started after Zishan Khan from Ward No. 8 complained to police. Officers checked the account, confirmed the issue, and took Shah into custody. They registered an FIR under the BNS Act and IT Act at Jogbani police station.
Police have boosted forces in sensitive spots to stop any more communal trouble. The situation there is stable now.
These back-to-back cases of communal violence in Bihar come just weeks before the state assembly elections. They highlight the tough job ahead for Bihar police as they work to maintain peace across the state.
