On Tuesday, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar snapped into action at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan to watch the last‑minute prep work for the new NDA government’s swearing‑in. Along with Samrat Chaudhary, Nitin Naveen, BJP’s Vinod Tawde and other party leaders, he was joined by top Bihar officials – Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit, Police Director General Vinay Kumar, District Magistrate Tyagarajan S.M. and Superintendent of Police Kartikeya K. Sharma.
The NDA’s sweeping win in the recent Bihar elections set the stage for a historic inauguration on November 20. Nitish Kumar will take the oath for the tenth time as Patna’s chief minister right in the heart of the city.
Expect big names: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and senior BJP leaders are slated to attend. Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal said the event could see about 300,000 people in crowds.
The BJP legislative party will meet on Wednesday, followed by a meeting of the NDA bloc. Same day, a ceremony at Gandhi Maidan will officially launch the new state government. The event will also invite chief ministers, deputy chief ministers and other public figures from across India.
Jaiswal praised the voters for giving the NDA an unprecedented mandate. “The new government will work to make Bihari dream a reality,” he said. He also urged the opposition, led by RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav, to play a disciplined and constructive role in the state’s growth.
