Noida Police arrested a vehicle‑theft gang that had been dismantling cars and selling the parts across several districts and states.
Acting on a tip, officers from Sector‑113 police station seized four men in Supertech Romano T‑point, Sector‑118. They recovered parts from ten broken‑down cars worth about ₹50 lakh and also seized two vehicles that had been used in the robberies, along with high‑tech lock‑busting tools.
The criminals operated mostly at night. They would watch a vehicle parked on a main road, near a hotel, or in a public lot, then crack open the driver’s side lock to steal it. After the theft, the cars were taken to isolated spots where they were stripped for parts. Those parts were sold to scrap dealers at low prices, making it hard to trace the original vehicle.
Police said the gang never used phones while moving around, a tactic to avoid detection. Investigators described the men as experienced thieves who had been active for years. Money from the stolen cars was used to cover personal expenses and legal costs from other pending cases.
The suspects were identified as Monu alias Yashveer (30), resident of Bulandshahr; Jagan Yadav (40), also from Bulandshahr; Imran (40), Gautam Buddh Nagar; and Sohanbir (32), Aligarh. Their education ranged from 6th to 12th grade.
Monu has a long criminal record and is already facing 17 cases in Delhi, Bulandshahr and Gautam Buddh Nagar under serious charges, including theft, robbery, the Gangsters Act, and the Arms Act.
Investigators say the gang was part of a larger network that trades stolen vehicle parts throughout western Uttar Pradesh and neighboring areas. Police are continuing the investigation to locate other members and recover more stolen property.
