Chandigarh, Oct 4 – Haryana’s Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, called on local traders today to pass the full savings from the central government’s lower GST rates on goods and services straight to shoppers.
The CM pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s GST reforms have already started helping the people of India. He urged businesses to get involved in the “GST Bachat Utsav,” a state‑wide drive that promises cheaper prices and more trade.
“Lower prices mean more shoppers can buy everyday items, and that boosts the whole economy,” Saini said. He described the reforms as a historic step toward a self‑reliant India and stressed that the private sector must push these benefits to consumers.
Saini also highlighted potential savings for the middle class during festivals and encouraged traders to promote and produce more local, or indigenous, products. “Focusing on domestic goods will strengthen our industry and help the state and the nation grow,” he added.
The chief minister cited Haryana’s impressive record in GST collection. Net SGST collections jumped from ₹18,910 crore in 2018‑19 to ₹39,743 crore in 2024‑25, making the state the top GST‑collector in India. This growth, he said, reflects the strong economy and the active support of Haryana’s business community.
Overall, CM Saini’s message was clear: let the GST cuts benefit everyday shoppers, champion local products, and keep the economy moving forward.
