BJP figures echoed the praise. Sudhanshu Trivedi highlighted Modi’s journey from Gujarat chief minister to India’s longest‑serving prime minister, noting how his development model has earned respect not only in India but around the world. Trivedi recalled that 24 years ago, Modi took office as Gujarat’s chief minister and has since transformed the state’s economy and infrastructure.
Modi is the second‑longest‑serving Indian prime minister, surpassing former PM Indira Gandhi’s record of about 11 years. By 2029, when the next general elections are scheduled, he will have led the country for over 15 years.
