Patna, Bihar – In a busy week of talks about the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, RJD chief Manoj Kumar Jha said it is hard to see how Jitan Ram Manjhi’s dramatic Mahabharata‑style remarks about seat‑sharing line up with the reality of the NDA alliance.
Jha told that when someone uses epic poetry to vent frustration, it feels very disconnected from the real situation. The RJD leader cautions that the BJP‑led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is working through the numbers, and that the high‑profile comments over seats are “only theatrics”.
At the same time, top BJP leaders Dharmendra Pradhan and Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya held a committee meeting in Patna. Maurya reassured reporters that the NDA has no complaints about the seat‑sharing deal. “Everyone is happy,” he said, adding, “once the deal is finalised, you will be informed.”
Earlier, Bihar minister Shravan Kumar confirmed that NDA partners are close to finalising the seat table. Meanwhile, Congress veteran Sachin Pilot kept his optimism alive, saying the Mahagathbandhan will soon reveal its own seat‑sharing details. “The parties will settle everything through discussion,” Pilot told .
Election officials have released the poll schedule. Bihar’s 243 assembly seats will be contested in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with counting slated for November 14. As of now, the voter roll lists 7.42 crore electors, down from 7.89 crore earlier in the year after the removal of 65 lakh names.
With the election date approaching, all eyes will stay on how the NDA and opposing parties nail down their seat allocations and rally the voters in Bihar’s crucial electoral showdown.
