Bandi Sanjay Kumar, who serves as Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, told residents in Hyderabad on Tuesday that any village in Karimnagar that backs a BJP‑aligned candidate with unanimous support will receive ₹10 lakh in development funds straight away.

His statement came shortly after the Telangana State Election Commission said that Gram Panchayat polls would take place in three phases this December.

“If your village elects a BJP‑supported Sarpanch unanimously in Karimnagar Parliamentary constituency, I will directly fund ₹10 lakh for that village’s development – no delays, no excuses,” said Bandi Sanjay, who represents the Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat.
“As your Member of Parliament, I have MPLADS funds available. You already know how we’ve brought in crores through CSR and invested them in improving education and healthcare. As a Union Minister, I’ll secure even more central funds to strengthen Panchayat development,” the MoS posted on ‘X’.

He reminded voters that a former BRS government had pledged ₹5 lakh to unanimously elected Panchayats, but under that promise only 70 villages in the Karimnagar area got a candidate, and none of the money ever materialised over five years.

Bandi Sanjay also slammed previous promises made by the Congress administration, accusing both parties of using the idea of unanimous elections to defraud local communities. “Those who trusted Congress and BRS ended up suffering financially. Both parties are now preparing to repeat the same deception. I urge the people of Karimnagar not to fall for their words,” he warned.

He argued that only the BJP can bring real cash into the villages, adding that if Congress or BRS candidates win, new funds will not arrive and even existing central allocations could be diverted.

According to the Telangana State Election Commission’s notice, the elections will be conducted on December 11, 14 and 17 for 12,728 sarpanch posts and 112,242 wards. Polling will run from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., with vote counting scheduled for the same day at 2 p.m. A total of 1.66 million rural voters are expected to participate.
