In the run‑up to the Bihar Assembly elections, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is hammering out how many seats each party will fight for. The alliance’s leaders are stressing that the coalition stays solid, even as two key partners push for bigger shares.

Union Ministers Chirag Paswan, head of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), is reportedly looking for about 40 seats. Jitan Ram Manjhi, who leads the Hindustan Awam Morcha (HAM), wants at least 15. Those numbers show how important seat allocation is for the smaller parties in a big bloc.

NDA’s top brass has already said there’s no real conflict. Former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told that the alliance “remains united.” JD(U) spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan added that the seat‑sharing talks are “logical discussions among all the parties’ leadership” and that they plan to announce the final split soon. Union Minister of State Nityanand Rai echoed that sentiment, saying the NDA’s focus is on Bihar’s progress and the well‑being of its citizens. BJP MP Satish Chandra Dubey also dismissed rumours of rifts, stressing that the five NDA allies will contest the polls together with a shared commitment.

The official seat‑sharing formula has not yet been released, but the coalition is moving forward. Indians across Bihar are watching closely, as the final numbers could shape the political landscape in the state’s next legislative assembly election.
