Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh – Nov 15 – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath told visitors at the Tribal Pride Day event that no eligible tribal family in the state will be left out of the government’s welfare programs. The speech, delivered in front of a large crowd in Chopan, highlighted the state’s commitment to development, security and equal partnership for all tribal communities.

Yogi said the NDA‑led central government, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is focused on progress and good governance for every citizen, especially the tribal population. “Our government sticks firmly to Birsa Munda’s legacy of ‘Abu Desh, Abu Raj’ while working for a ‘Nation First’ mindset,” he said. He added that the state will support tribal families with security, dignity and self‑reliance.

The ceremony marked the 150th birth anniversary of “Dharti Aba” Birsa Munda. Tribal elders and descendants of freedom fighters were honored; land pattas were handed out under the Forest Rights Act, and the CM announced that 23,000 forest‑rights leases have already been approved, with over 1,000 delivered at the event. “These steps give tribal families ownership and break a long cycle of exploitation,” Yogi noted.

In addition to the land rights announcement, the CM laid the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹548 crore in Sonbhadra. The state also opened a booklet on Sonbhadra’s tourist spots and a book about Birsa Munda. Yogi distributed certificates to beneficiaries of various schemes and flagged off 25 scooters for women police officers under Mission Shakti.

Cultural troupes from Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Sonbhadra performed traditional dances, celebrating the diversity of India’s tribal heritage. Yogi described Sonbhadra as an energy hub and a “repository of human history and natural heritage,” pointing to the 1.4‑billion‑year‑old fossils at Salkhan Fossil Park that are now on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

He stressed that Uttar Pradesh’s 11 lakh tribal residents, spread across 15 districts—including Sonbhadra, Chandauli, Mirzapur and others—are covered by a range of schemes. Yogi called the government’s “saturation approach” a way to ensure no eligible family is left out. The focus remains on land pattas, housing, ration cards, Ayushman Bharat cards, toilets and pensions for the elderly and destitute women.

“By ensuring social security and land ownership, we give tribal families a secure future and a role in India’s unity and prosperity,” Yogi concluded. 🗞️
