Delhi Police uncovered some shocking items during a new search at a management institute in the city, shedding more light on an ongoing sexual harassment case. The raid targeted the premises at Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management Research, or SRISIM, where accused Chaitanyananda Saraswati—also known as Parthasarathy—had been staying.
Officers found one sex toy and five CDs that appear to hold pornographic content. They also seized three fake photos showing the accused posing with big names like Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former U.S. President Barack Obama, and a UK leader. Chaitanyananda and some of his female associates were there as the search happened.
To build their case, the police team traveled to places like Bageshwar and Almora in Uttarakhand, plus other spots where the suspect hid while on the run. Investigators say they’re still digging deeper into everything.
This comes amid serious allegations against Chaitanyananda, who’s accused of molesting 17 students at a Delhi institute. Delhi Police Deputy Commissioner Amit Goel from the South West district told reporters that the suspect might have tricked victims with fake job promises, using his position to exploit them. “A detailed investigation is underway,” Goel said. “We’re gathering evidence against him for all these charges. He’s under questioning right now.”
Goel pointed out that three women were close to Chaitanyananda from the early days, and police are figuring out their roles. He may have targeted even more victims. To stay under the radar, the accused used an international phone number instead of his own. Cops caught him at a hotel where he checked in with his old name, Parthasarathy.
On his phone, officers discovered lewd chats and photos of women, pointing to a clear pattern of predatory behavior. The initial police report, or FIR, names three women linked to the case, and police questioned them recently. Two of his female associates are now detained and facing him directly in interrogations—they showed up for questioning on Monday and again later.
Chaitanyananda hasn’t shown any regret and isn’t helping investigators much. Police say he dodges questions unless they hit him with hard evidence or push strictly. The case started at Vasant Kunj North Police Station after complaints of multiple sexual harassment incidents.
It all kicked off with tips to the institute’s leadership—a student and an Air Force officer flagged the issues on July 28 and August 1, 2024. The institute’s governing council then held a virtual meeting on August 3 with more than 30 female students. They shared stories of harassment and trauma, including claims that students from poorer backgrounds faced pressure to visit Chaitanyananda’s quarters at night.
The FIR details lewd WhatsApp and SMS messages, plus threats to block degrees and important documents if victims didn’t comply. Police also learned about hidden surveillance cameras in the women’s hostel, supposedly for security. People close to the accused allegedly forced students to go along with his demands and ignored their pleas for help.
Delhi Police stress that the probe continues as they work to uncover the full story in this disturbing sexual harassment case.
