In Jaipur, officials reported that security forces have stepped up patrols along the most exposed stretches of the Indo‑Pak border in Rajasthan’s Barmer district after a Pakistani teenager was found hiding in a cowshed.
The 24‑year‑old, who slipped across the border under cover of darkness, was captured by the Border Security Force when villagers spotted him in a cowshed in Jat Ke Bera, just 200 m from the frontline.
Barmer Sub‑Inspector Narendra Singh Meena identified him as Hindal, son of Barsa from Nayatala village in Chhachro tehsil of Mithi district, Pakistan.
Locals flagged his suspicious behavior and alerted the BSF, who promptly escorted him back to Indian custody. He carried no contraband, and after a brief interview was handed over to the Sedwa police station for deeper scrutiny.
Investigators are now tracing the exact breach point, studying his footprints and the likely path he used to navigate the barbed‑wire fence, with the aim of sealing similar gaps.
This is not the first intrusion in recent weeks: a month and a half ago, a Pakistani man and his 7‑year‑old son were intercepted at Zero Point while attempting to cross into India, and later investigations suggested he was trying to join family members already residing in the country.
The most recent arrest comes amid a spike in espionage concerns in Rajasthan’s border areas, where multiple suspects have been detained over the past six months for alleged spying on behalf of Pakistani intelligence.
Highlights of recent arrests include Pathan Khan (Karam Ki Dhani), Shakur Khan (former aide to ex‑Congress minister Saleh Mohammad), Mahendra Prasad (DRDO guest‑house manager, Jaisalmer), Jeevan Khan (Jaisalmer, caught with multiple Pakistani contacts), and Hanif Khan (September 25), all accused of transmitting sensitive Army or Government information to Pakistan.
