New Delhi – Nov 23 (LatestNewsX) – Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Electoral Officer, Navdeep Rinwa, called on every voter in the state this Sunday to actively join the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and hand in their enumeration forms by December 4.
He stressed that each voter should make sure the form is correctly filled out, signed, and then handed over to the Booth Level Officer (BLO) at their polling venue.
Rinwa added that people can double‑check their information against the electoral roll generated during the 2003 SIR – the most recent major revision in the state. By going to the official portal voters.eci.gov.in and selecting the “Search Your Name in Last SIR” option, voters can look up their details under the “Search by Elector Details” tab.
Those who lived in other states between 2002 and 2004 can also view the electoral rolls of those states via the same portal. To make filling out the Enumeration Form easier, the site now offers an online completion option.
Voters can also type their EPIC number to retrieve the name and phone number of their BLO, and the portal includes a “Book a Call with Your BLO” feature that notifies the respective BLO through their mobile app; BLOs are expected to return the call within 48 hours.
Rinwa also highlighted the dedicated telephone support line. By dialing 1950 with the district STD code, voters can reach the district contact centre where trained staff can answer questions and take complaints.
He instructed district administrations to establish as many help desks as possible in urban areas and deploy fully trained personnel familiar with the SIR process. He revealed that BLOs have already collected and digitised more than 30 million enumeration forms.
Noting that BLOs in urban areas often face extra hurdles due to being posted away from their local communities, Rinwa urged Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) to provide full cooperation.
Finally, he directed all District Election Officers to guarantee that enumeration forms reach voters in every village, hamlet, colony and settlement, and to develop action plans that will keep the SIR on track and finish on time.
