Jerusalem, Nov 25 (LatestNewsX) – The Israeli Prime Minister’s office confirmed on Tuesday that the reports claiming Netanyahu had postponed his trip to India over security concerns after the recent blast near Delhi’s Red Fort were false.
In a post on X, the PMO said that Israel and India are working together to set a new date for the visit and that Netanyahu has “full confidence” in India’s security under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Israel’s bond with India and between Prime Minister Netanyahu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is very strong. The PM has full confidence in India’s security under PM Modi, and teams are already coordinating a new visit date,” the official account of the Office of the Prime Minister of Israel stated.
Earlier coverage in Israeli media suggested that the PM, who was slated to arrive in New Delhi in December—his first official visit since 2018—had pushed back the trip after the deadly attack, with a new date expected for next year “pending security assessments.”
On Nov 12, Netanyahu expressed his condolences to Prime Minister Modi and the Indian people over the car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, which claimed several lives and injured dozens. He emphasized that terror will never shake the resolve of either nation.
In a message on X, Netanyahu wrote: “To our dear friend Narendra Modi and to the brave people of India: Sara and I, and the people of Israel, send our deepest condolences to the families of the victims. Israel stands strong with you in sorrow and in strength in this time.”
He added: “India and Israel are ancient civilizations that stand on eternal truths. Terror may strike our cities, but it will never shake our souls. The light of our nations will outshine the darkness of our enemies.”
Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar also offered his sympathies to the people of India, particularly the families of those killed in the Delhi blast, and reaffirmed Israel’s support in fighting terrorism. He posted: “I extend my and Israel’s deepest condolences to the People of India and especially to the families of the innocent victims killed in the blast at the heart of Delhi. Wishing speedy recovery to the wounded. Israel stands with India in its fight against terror.”
