Pranavi makes cut at Houston, lies 26th

Pranavi Urs Shines at Aramco Houston Championship with Strong Second Round

Indian golfer Pranavi Urs kicked off her second round with a bang at the Aramco Houston Championship, nailing four birdies in just five holes to card a solid 3-under 69. This performance puts her at tied-26th place overall with scores of 72-69, sitting at 3-under for the tournament. She’s the only Indian player to make the cut, which landed at even par, as 61 golfers advanced at the Golfcrest Country Club in Houston.

Meanwhile, fellow Indians Avani Prashanth (73-73) and Tvesa Malik (73-77) sadly missed out on the cut. Pranavi’s impressive birdie run highlights her skill in women’s golf and keeps Indian fans cheering for more updates on LPGA Tour events.

Spain’s Carlota Ciganda stole the show on day two, blasting a stunning 64 (-8) to grab a one-shot lead heading into the final round of the individual competition. The eight-time Ladies European Tour (LET) winner started strong with a birdie on the 10th, followed by back-to-back birdies on 13 and 14. She kept the momentum going with four straight birdies on 16, 17, 18, and the first hole, plus more on three and four. Her only slip-up came on the eighth, but she still topped the leaderboard at 10-under-par. Ciganda’s hot streak makes her a favorite in this LPGA event.

Right behind her is fellow Spaniard Nuria Iturrioz, just one shot off the lead after firing a 67 (-5) in the second round. England’s Mimi Rhodes, who led after the first day, holds third place at 8-under-par with a steady 70 (-2). In a tie for fourth at 7-under-par are Czechia’s Kristyna Napoleaova and Thailand’s April Angurasaranee, both posting impressive 66 (-6) rounds.

The top 10 rounds out with six players at 6-under-par: France’s Nastasia Nadaud, Perrine Delacour, and Celine Boutier; Germany’s Polly Mack; England’s Charley Hull; and Spain’s Luna Sobron Galmes. Don’t miss these rising stars in women’s professional golf shaking up the Aramco Houston Championship leaderboard.

The round of the week belongs to Germany’s Helen Briem and Austria’s Emma Spitz, who both shot a brilliant 65 (-7) to climb to tied-12th. Their low scores add excitement to the tournament’s golf highlights.

In the team event, Team Kouskova clinched a thrilling one-stroke victory at the Aramco Houston Team Championship with a total of 32-under-par. The team—Sara Kouskova, Sofie Kibsgaard Nielsen, April Angurasaranee, and Ana Belac—started the day tied for fourth at 14-under. They played smart, making pars on the first two holes before exploding on the front nine with a -10 turn to jump into contention.

On the back nine, they kept sinking birdies, and Thailand’s Angurasaranee sealed the win with a massive 24-foot putt on the last hole. This marks Team Kouskova’s third victory, including their captained triumph at the 2025 Aramco Korea Championship earlier this year. The competition was nail-biting, with Team Rhodes and Team Boutier finishing just one stroke back at 31-under-par.

As the Aramco Houston Championship wraps up, keep an eye on Pranavi Urs and the leaders for more action in this key women’s golf tournament.
