Police say a 22‑year‑old man named Jacob Narvaez ran a random attack spree in Williamsburg on Monday night, striking three women. The first victim was a 19‑year‑old walking home on Heyward Street near Lee Avenue. Around 9:25 p.m., Narvaez allegedly slapped her on the buttocks. He then walked roughly four blocks to Bedford Avenue near Hewes Street, where he went on to hit two more women just minutes later in front of a yeshiva. According to officers and a witness, one woman was caught behind her by a slap on the side of her face, while another was scratched on the back around 9:30 p.m.

Rachel Paskes, one of the attacked, later described how the incident unfolded. She told The Post over the phone, “He came from the back without me seeing anything.” She continued, “The hit was so hard, I didn’t know what I was feeling.” She added, “From the back, he slapped my right ear.” Paskes said the force of the blow shocked her phone to dead status and left her ear numb and red. No one chased after Narvaez; he fled the scene in the chaos. However, he was in custody within minutes—about a half‑mile away—around 10:15 p.m. Police arrested him and charged him with misdemeanor assault and harassment. Narvaez has no prior arrests.

The incident received prompt attention from both the NYPD and the Williamsburg Shomrim Safety Patrol, as captured in a video posted on X by Williamsburg 365 News. The footage shows officers converging on the area and Narvaez being taken into custody in handcuffs.

This string of assaults comes just weeks after Anthony Caines, 45, allegedly spat on three women during a two‑day rash in the same neighborhood. Caines, who was released on supervised parole after the incidents didn’t reach felony level, was not held in jail because the alleged actions fell short of a felony charge.

The neighborhood police are treating the outbreaks as “isolated but alarming” incidents, urging community members to remain alert and report any unusual activity.
