One of two National Guard members shot in DC ID’d as Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, an alumnus of Musselman High School, has been confirmed as one of the two West Virginia National Guard soldiers who were shot in a violent ambush this week. The attack, which took place near the Farragut West Metro Station in Northwest DC, was carried out by a 29‑year‑old Afghan national named Rahmanullah Lakanwal, who allegedly fired at Wolfe and a female guard in the same burst.

Wolfe is currently in critical condition after surgery, and the identity of the wounded woman remains unknown. Herr, as his former school shared in a Facebook post, “Please keep Andrew, his family, and all those affected in your thoughts. We will share updates as we receive them.”
