The ex‑boyfriend of former New York Magazine reporter Olivia Nuzzi has reportedly started a new romance with a former staffer for Vice President Kamala Harris—who’s almost half his age and has a very different personal history. The 51‑year‑old journalist, Ryan Lizza, was spotted by the Daily Mail during a Thanksgiving getaway with 28‑year‑old abortion‑rights advocate Caroline Motley, who openly calls herself a “misandrist.”
Motley once worked on Harris’s 2024 campaign and was captured on camera in tears as the VP conceded defeat to President Trump. A photo shows the liberal activist pulling a coffee labeled with Lizza’s name out of his Washington, D.C. apartment, and the pair later boarded a limo to depart.
Lizza recently explained in a blog that he’s found a “new love” and, without naming her, praised the woman’s beauty and the joy she brings to his life, noting that they just marked their first anniversary together. 23 years his junior, she finished her Master’s at George Washington University, according to her LinkedIn profile. She grew up on a sprawling 10,000‑square‑foot estate in Virginia, where her neighbors included former Vice President Dick Cheney and former U.S. Solicitor General Robert Bork.
Her budding relationship follows Lizza’s headline‑making breakup with Nuzzi, whose reported affair with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made headlines in September 2024. Nuzzi, now 32 and widely known as a Vanity Fair writer, had been hinting at the affair while promoting her upcoming memoir, “American Canto.” Instead of letting her claim the spotlight, Lizza went on a blistering rant about their relationship in a blog, accusing her of a separate liaison with former South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford and sharing chilling “poetry” supposedly sent by RFK Jr. He even quoted the former president’s nephew’s painful verse, “You are my canyon. I mean to flow through you.”
