At a sideline interview in Palm Beach, President Trump said the recent “monstrous ambush” of two National Guard members in Washington, DC, underscores the single greatest national security threat facing our nation greatest national security threat. He blamed the surge of immigration that has come under the Biden administration, claiming it is the root cause of the problem.
“I can report tonight that based on the best available information, the Department of Homeland Security is confident that the suspect in custody is a foreigner who entered our country from Afghanistan, a hellhole on Earth,” Trump declared. He went on to explain that “He was flown in by the Biden administration in September 2021 on those infamous flights that everybody was talking about,” and that the man’s status was extended under legislation signed by President Biden, whom he called “a disastrous president, the worst in the history of our country.”
The president repeated that the attack “underscores the single greatest national security threat facing our nation greatest national security threat,” adding that the last administration had let in 20 million unvetted foreigners from across the globe. He vowed to “re‑examine every single alien who has entered our country from Afghanistan under Biden.”
Sources told The Post that the Afghan suspect, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, had been admitted through a Biden‑era Operation Allies Welcome resettlement program.
